It all started in 2004 in the music room of my church... then moved to the band room at my
former high school... and now here -
250 Seville Street, Suite A
I should start by saying God is great and faithful! Jay and I looked for a place for two years (2009 - 2011), and I had been dreaming of a studio since I was about 17 years old. After seeing several locations and talking to many people about getting started, it felt like one obstacle after another was coming between us and our goal of owning a dance studio.
Even in the midst of these obstacles we felt that finding our studio was our next chapter. We prayed, we counted the cost, looked at buildings, prayed some more, counted more, looked more, etc... until there was nothing left for us to do except wait. We thought we were at the end of this journey and perhaps we were wrong about starting a business... little did we know we were only at the beginning.
God doesn't always do things our way. His timing is perfect and in our weakness He reveals His strength! This story has helped us to remember that.
A friend called us in the summer of 2011 asking if we had looked into the building on Seville Street. We replied "no" and were shocked that a building had slipped by us. As soon as we stepped foot in this building, we took one look at each other and knew this was the place we had been searching for all along!
Our landlords connected with our dream and helped open the door to this season of our life. Our family and friends were there to help us paint, lay floor, and every possible renovation you could imagine. Through each step God never left our side. He is our Rock. He is our strength. He is the reason for it all. To Him be all the glory!

It's finally here!!!!! Our wall mounted, double BALLET BARRE! Some of my dancers and I have been dreaming and waiting for this day for nearly 9 years! We've practiced in the center and across the floor, but now it's time to work hard at the barre. This is such a critical piece of equipment in a dance studio, and I'm more than excited to offer this to my students. The ballet barre has definitely been a challenging gadget to find. We searched, studied, and even tried to design our own barre. When nothing worked out and it felt like it was impossible, God proved once again that He is our faithful provider!
In July 2012, I came home from a dance class, eyes full of tears, expressing to Jay my doubts with the ballet barre. This project had felt like an impossible feat. Jay began to laugh and have this silly grin on his face. He calmly walked over to me and said, “Les, God has provided. Someone has donated the wood needed for this dream to come true. All we need now are the brackets. Plus, the donations given by friends and family from the “Infinite Universe” production, and the finances we've been saving should cover the cost of the brackets. GOD IS FAITHFUL!”
Thank you friends and family for graciously giving your prayers, heart, and finances towards our ballet barre. Thank you to my past and present dance students and their families for being patient with me while we learn what it means to be dance studio owners. Thank you to the person (who wishes to remain anonymous) for donating your time, money and energy into preparing six gorgeous oak barres and even delivering them to the studio. WOW! What a true testimony you are of God's love and faithfulness. And thank you Jay Hayes, my love, for reminding me that God never gives up on me. I'm looking forward to what God has in store for our beautiful ballerinas....for now and for the days to come!
