Our Studio
It all started in 2004 in the music room of my church... then moved to the band room at my old high school... and now here - 250 Suite A Seville Street!
I have to start off by saying, WOW! God is great and faithful!!! Jay and I had been seriously looking for a place for the last two years (2009 - 2011) and I had been dreaming of a place since I was about 17 years old. After seeing several locations and talking to many people about getting started, it felt like one wall after another was being thrown up in front of us... We just couldn't find a way over this startup mountain.
Even in the midst of all these obstacles we still felt like finding this place, our studio, was the right thing to do and what we were supposed to do with our life. We prayed, we counted the cost, looked at building spaces, prayed some more, counted more, looked more, etc, etc, etc... until there was nothing left for us to do except wait. We thought we were at the end of this journey and maybe we were wrong about getting a studio... little did we know we were only at the beginning.
God doesn't always do things our way. His timing is perfect and in our weakness He reveals His strength! This story has helped me to remember that.
A friend called us in the summer of 2011 asking if we had looked into the building on Seville Street. We replied "no" and were shocked that a building had slipped by us. We were almost certain that we had looked at EVERY nook and cranny of available spaces in Florence. Not the case! Because as soon as we stepped foot in this building, we took one look at each other and knew this was the place we had been looking for all along!
Our wonderful landlords connected with our dream and helped open the door to this season of our life! Our awesome family and friends were there to help us paint, lay floor, and every possible renovation! And we know, that we know, God has never left our side! He is our Rock. He is our strength. He is the reason for it all. To Him be all the glory!
